Blast off, blast off! This Purim, we’re flipping tradition on its orbit and launching the story of Esther into deep space with Sushan Space Odyyssey. Think intergalactic revelry, retro-futurist flair, and a celebration that’s truly out of this world.
Join us for a night of cosmic spectacle and joyful absurdity, where ancient Shushan meets the far reaches of the galaxy. Expect stellar performances, otherworldly costumes, and a megillah reading transmitted from a future you didn’t know you were waiting for. Space snacks? Absolutely. Zero-gravity dancing? Highly encouraged. A little too much joy? That’s mission-critical.
Come dressed in your boldest space-age finest —astronauts, aliens, cosmic royalty, retro robots, or beings we don’t yet have names for. Prepare for unexpected delights and a healthy dose of sacred sci-fi chaos. Because if Purim teaches us anything, it’s that reality bends when you least expect.
So fuel up, suit up, and join us on the dance floor as we hurtle joyfully through the cosmos. It’s Purim in space… and anything can happen.

Calling all earthlings (and beyond)! Our megillah-filled Purim Spiel is preparing for launch, and everyone’s invited to be part of the journey.
This year, Planet Shushan sends Esther’s story into the cosmos with a playful, retro-futurist spin. We’re looking for performers of all ages and experience levels to help bring it to life. No special training required: if you like to move, dance, pose, act, sing, make funny faces, or just show up with enthusiasm, you’re already qualified.
Got a small talent? A big idea? A kid who loves the spotlight? A grown-up who’s secretly been waiting for one? Perfect. There’s room for everyone —onstage, offstage, or somewhere in between.

Rehearsal Schedules
We're planning on having several rehearsals leading up to Purim:
Sunday, February 15th Virtual Google Meet at 3-5pm
Monday, February 23rd In person in the evening (Timing TBD)
Sunday, March 1st In person (Time TBD)
Monday, March 2nd Final Dress Rehearsal right before Purim
Costumes
We don’t mess around with Purim — when we choose a theme, we commit at warp speed. Costumes aren’t technically required (depending who you ask), but trust us: you’ll feel way more in the spirit with a little something to bring the intergalactic magic to life. Think bold.
