Join the Shared Society Project of The Kitchen for an evening with Dr. Tareq Abu Hamed, Executive Director of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, as he shares his insights on how environmental cooperation can be a tool to foster regional cooperation and peacebuilding in the Middle East.
In the current environment, Israeli and Palestinian cooperative efforts have become more challenging than ever. However, using environmental work as a tool for cross-border engagement, the Arava Institute has maintained its Israeli, Palestinian, and Jordanian partners and found that relationships among students, alumni, and research partners have strengthened over the past 17 months.
What has kept the Institute’s relationships with Israelis, Palestinians, and others so strong during this traumatic time? Come to this important event to find out. This will be the last offering of The Kitchen's Shared Society Project until Fall 2025 – you won't want to miss it!
About The Shared Society Project
We are focused on learning and supporting the people in Israel/Palestine who are committed to building a shared society – creating spaces where Jews and Palestinians can come together and get to know each other as human beings. We refer to these as “shared society” endeavors. We seek to elevate the Israelis and Palestinians on the ground doing the work to support and learn from their leadership and build partnerships, connections, and coalitions.
